The current Treasurer of the Judo Federation of Chile, Carolina Garrido, was elected by a large majority as the new President of the sports organization, with the presence of club leaders from all over the country in the extraordinary General Assembly held on this day and will replace the interim President, María Loreto González.

Carolina Garrido after the General Assembly noted that "focus on the development of the different areas, is our first objective, because the first period of this leadership was to make the foundations and generate a solid structure. Now, in this stage we will proceed to strengthen every area that the Federation needs to work together with athletes, technicians, fathers and mothers, looking for the projection of new values ​​and preparing sports concentrations. All this that I name must be in conjunction with the clubs, with the commitment of the clubs, plus that of the Federation, which will project us in time with successful results, "he said.

The new President of the Federation belongs to the Club Shiru Judo de Peñaflor, Metropolitan Region, who along with her husband Sensei Ricardo Figueroa, a former Chilean national, have developed a sports project that began with a social motivation, making judo classes in a Children's Home, SOS Village, "My Friends", with the intention of showing vulnerable children that the change in their lives could come through sports and have a better future. The project grew and turns 9 years old, where it became a benchmark for training in that commune.
Carolina Garrido added that "I firmly believe that sport does change people's lives, because in addition the atmosphere of this sport is very familiar, it is very container, very friendly. I see it through our athletes in different parts of the country, "he said.

The new President is mother, Macarena Figueroa, outstanding junior athlete with great projection.
